You know it's cold when...

Your nasal hairs freeze up & bang the inside of your nose when you breathe!

Your dog breathes out & his breath freezes on his chest mane - turning him instantly gray...

Your driveway has 2 inches of solid ice on it (more like an ice-rink) & it takes a pick axe to chip away at it...

Your thermometer shows its -17 & the weather shows that with a wind chill factor its actually -26...

You start musing over what colour long-johns to wear...
So yes its cold here & very beautiful, with tiny snowflakes constantly falling yet the sun manages to peep through the clouds. With the full moon a few days ago the night times were quite light with the reflection of the moon on the snow.

Erik has been naughty - again... he has now eaten: the USB connector for my NEW wireless headphones (& no they don't sell that separately - buy a new set £70); the packaging on ink for my printer - fortunately no ink was damaged during the making of that movie!; my favourite ankle boots - replaced for £40 in the sales; dishcloths; Xmas decs; my new wireless mouse - with an attempt to chew the AA Battery - no permanent damage done to either equipment or puppy;

Ian has been busy refurbishing the shed - oops I mean his workshop wiring the electrics in & replacing rotten windows with ones from the house when they were replaced (good recycling hey...). We have a new wood stove coming so he can have his fags in the warmth! He has made a new workbench & has a million new toys - sorry tools to start working with. We just need insulation & a to put new aluminium roof on - but at the mo that is a foot deep in ice/snow so will have to do that job in the spring or when there is a big thaw.

I've been writing my IT courses - but yesterday the IT centre was closed until further notice as the roof leaks! Doh!
I'm off to old Blighty on Sunday - yahoo! & am mooching round Hampton Court Palace on Monday - then taking an internal flight up to Manchester on Tues 27th - muvvers 80th birthday - so that'll be a nice treat for her - to make lunch for me!! Lots to do when I get there & loads of peeps to meet up with. Mums 80th birthday party on Sat 31st. Then fly back to London Weds eve for the flight to Halifax Thursday morning...

Well I'm off to pack me case - hopefully not too full as I have a shopping list to bring stuff back with me - mainly Tea Bags & chocolate & chick pea dhal - mmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnn!!TTFN

Hi Pattie - fab to see you guys too.
Still cold here - but beautiful blue skies & warm sun - ace!
Journey back was poo! Fined £168 excess baggage - yes a complaint has gone in - was cos I'd booked internal flights separate to Air canada - so their baggage policy didn't apply to BMI. Anyway disputing it via the credit card co! Then delays leaving Heathrow - so missed connection in HAlifax - in all took 24hrs to get from London to Home - which is rubbish! Took 4 days to recover!!
Now beetling away on Ians website & prepping my antiques venture - pharpp - dead nervous...
Love you loads
Maxx
